My opinion is that Manulife should have done more research on the mental disorder - as well as spoken to her doctors. It is possible she was faking it, but it is also possible she was not. Sorry for the long comment.

I am actually studying Psychology in school now - and the thing with clinical depression is that you have something called manias and hyper-manias - Manias is when you have an extreme low, cannot leave your bed cannot eat and cannot move - now you have your hyper-manias - Hyper-Manias you cannot control yourself - you are in an amazing energetic move - but the problem is they cannot stop themselves and they go party and blow tons of money and simply do stupid things. Now this sounds similar to Bipolar Disorder - but the difference is, is that Bipolar is a constant mood swing which is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain, unlike clinical depression, which is due to either witnessing or went through hardship like death, constant put downs like school bullies, or simply low self esteem. Now when those pictures were taken, Natalie could have been in hyper-mania stage, therefore - still suffering from Clinical Depression.
