maybe you didnt see 'growth' in this fight because machida was fighting someone in his league. rashad and tiago werent. just because he didnt go out their and KO a fighter who has never been Ko'd before doesnt mean he isnt getting better. machida proved alot ... that he can have a war and still stand.. that he is a warrior. your comments baffle me. but its not suprising since i rarely agree with you. each to their own opinion.

I think every true fighter's natural progression shows in how they carry eachother in their fights. GSP lost against Matt Hughes, he learnt from that performance, never looked back and became what he became today. Even when you win a fight, that momentum should be carried forward and see a bigger and better fighter in the next challenge and I simply just didn't see Machida display any growth from his previous fight. I almost feel like Machida was "raped" the lesson he needed to learn to grow to his next level, by allowing him to keep the belt. In any event - I just feel disappointed.

i have no problem with you saying he didnt deserve to keep the belt but for you to say he didnt train hard enough is bullshit. as for rua proving he is a force to be reckoned with... most mma fans already knew that.

Over-trained? WTF? Machida did not look like himself, he spent so much time promoting his name, his brand and his "karate" style. All I saw was Machida this, Machida that, Machida t-shirt, Machida conference press, Machida interviews, Machida appearances, etc... He became a champion for who he is as a fighter, not for how well he can speak English, or how well he dresses now. It's not me that's ridiculous, it's Machida that walked in the octagon not looking as great as everyone expected him to be. No offence, but Rua trained - Rua trained and worked hard to prove to everyone he is a force to be reckon with. I saw no growth, no improvement from Machida. I am a Machida fan, I still have a lot of admiration and love for him, I am still in his corner and still stand by him - but he did not deserve to keep his belt.

maybe i am wrong about who won the fight... but for silkyjo to say machida spent too much time signing autographs than training for this fight... is RIDICULOUS. if anything i think he overtrained for the fight.

ya I'm sorry but machida lost the leg kicks did alot of damage, legs effect everything you do... with weaker legs all of your MMA techniques are weakened. You say Shogun did not do enough to win, but he did more than machida did. Its like silkyjo said its not always doing alot of damage, its doing more damage than your opponent. Shogun did do more dammage. But ya its awesome that you stick behind Machida through thick and thin.
