If we were defensively weak I'd disagree but I suppose it really is our hitting considering that we had the least errors this season in the MLB (or somewhere near that). We could sacrifice one defensive player to add some hitting, striking a balance would be beneficial. Brings up an interesting debate about the Mendoza line and whether there should be more factors considered when determining if a player's presence in the MLB can be justified.....

Johnny Mac is a borerline major leaguer. If we want to continue being a bush league team, we keep him. If we want to be legit, we upgrade our utility infield slot to someone who can actually hit. Love his defense, but he offers little else.

Litsch was showing potential as a pitcher, hopefully doesn't end up like Brandon League, but when Ruiz develops into a mature hitter he'll be comparable to Snider. Johnny Mac is not a good hitter but he's a player that makes up defensively, he can play a load of positions and always makes the desperate stab.

Johnny Mac will never hit above 250 even after we say our prayers and sacrifice a virgin to the gods! lol

Shawn Marcum is terrible, agreed. I don't know about Fraser, pitching prospects are always nice but we've got a lot. Snider, Ruiz, Litsch, all these guys are going to be great to see next year, maybe even Johnny Mac.

Great points, man. 2009 should be an interesting season. I'm looking forward to seeing what Snider does over 162 games and how Marcum does coming back from the injury. Hopefully, Cecil or Purcey can take a step next year. If not, we'll stay mediocre. Btw, worst pitcher in baseball = Shawn Camp. Get him off the team!!!!!

Fraser is a good pick up, I'll take great pitching over hitting any day. Especially with the way the Jays pitchers are going down these days with injuries! lol

Another shame is Jayson Werth is doing great in Philly and we only got Jason Frasor for him when we traded him. Rolen was old but a team like the Jays make seasoned veterans look all the more valuable. Let's get the Sniders and Romeros producing for us in the future, obviously whatever's going on now doesn't work.

We almost had Lincecum. Scott Rolen was an awesome 3rd baseman, but the guy is old, can't build around him. I say we trade and get as many draft picks as we can. Nice vid, I agree with you, disappointing year with the Blue Jays.
