Golf is super expensive, but so is hockey. You grow out of your equipment ever year or two just like golf clubs. The thing with golf is it's stereotypically an 'Old Boys' game, a sport for white, upper class males. But that's slowly changing with Tiger Woods, an obvious example, but also guys like Vijay Singh, or KJ Choi. Golf is hugely popular to watch on TV which will soon translate into more kids playing the sport.
Why I think golf will never be a mainstream sport.
