The MLB couldn't reverse Jim Joyce's call without firing him. Reversing it would undermine his authority. Plus, I saw the replay, and the media totally overhyped the call. Joyce didn't "blow" the call, it was pretty close.
The only way the MLB could reverse a call is if they had instant replay, similarly in hockey. I don't think reviewing the play would slow the game down too much. How many times would they have to actually use the instant replay? If they do institute instant replays they will definitely put it up on the jumbotron and instead of slowing the game down it will make it more exciting.

soccer needs to adopt it as well. France should not be in the current world cup.
