The championships, the records, his unique stand up style that nobody else can pull off in this NHL.. the sheer dedication to his craft... This guy is turning 38 in a week and still getting nominated for the Vezina.

And that comment goes for you too 4my1maxt; if he's "played a little too long", why is he still being recognized as one of the top three goaltenders in the regular season when he's knocking on 40's door?

The New Jersey Devils played awful and were snake bit all series long against the Flyers. It's not fair to place the blame on Marty when in most of the games he was the only thing that kept them in it (I believe it was Game 4 where he completely stole the show until Carcillo had that gimme in overtime).

You're entitled to your opinion about Marty not being the best of all time, as there is a fair argument against the likes of Patrick Roy. But to suggest that he's not ONE of the best, and taking it one step further and saying if the New Jersey Devils selected someone else in the Brodeur draft instead of him we might be talking about that rando instead, you're COMPLETELY wrong.

Brodeur is in my opinion, one of the best to play the game, has maybe just played a little to long.

good points i guess, but honestly brodeur is the best of all time. Just like Rodney Dean said, if brodeur isn't the best golie, than who is??

Brodeur is the best of our era. One can argue that any goalie that has succeeded also had a good team in front of them. Even though the guy is a good 10 years or more older than his competition, his wins, shutouts, etc rivals any goalie in the NHL. If Brodeur isn't the best goalie over the last 20 years, than who is?

best of all time? debatable, Patrick Roy may have something to say about that...but he's right up there. Best now? I'd take Ryan Miller over him anyday....maybe even Halak, Luongo and watch Bryzgalov.

Don't get me wrong, Marty has got some amazing stats, but he's also been playing for such a looong time that his stats get a huge leg up. He's good but he's not perfect and right now he is not the best.
