Hamilton proves to be most valuable even without September
In response to: Rangers' Hamilton wins American League MVP award
On Tuesday Josh Hamilton came away with the American MVP award. Not a big deal, right? On the contrary. The curly haired basher was out of action for almost the entire month of September and still managed to pimp out 32 homers and 100 RBIs.
It's always nice to see people overcome adversity and succeed in their respective fields. Hamilton went to rehab for addiction a total of 8 times. The Texas slugger led the league with a .359 batting average and a slugging percentage of .633 which helped the Rangers reach their first World Series - a true testament to his perseverance.
Congratulations to Josh on the award and, more importantly, giving people hope that things can turn around - regardless of how dire things may be.
