Ideal Country for Old Man
Sun, sand, bikinis, beaches, cottages, road trips, secluded parking lots with a loved/lusted one - all synonymous with the month of August. One notable omission: Brett Favre drama. That's right everybody, he's at it again. Only a few days ago, good ol' number 4 reportedly informed his inner circle that he'd be calling it quits once (twice, thrice, quadruple) and for all. Pull the bus over though! The indecisive Libra - yes, I did just incorporate astrology into my rant because I knew he'd be a Libra without even having to verify it - has reportedly corrected his inner circle and will, in fact, return for the 2010/11 NFL season should his ankle be fully healed (or healed enough to play).
The likes of standouts Vicente Shiancoe and Adrian Peterson were not shy in voicing their initial concerns about the potential substantial downgrade at the QB position once it was initially reported that the Southern Mississippi product would hang up his cleats. Said concerns were valid given the two proven red flags who would be "battling" it out to be Brett's successor: interception machine, Sage Rosenfels, and misguided missile launcher, Tarvaris Jackson. Minnesota, however, is a different case than the gunslinger's previous two teams. Favre's indecisiveness slowed the progression of an already progressed and capable Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay and all but killed any chance Kellen Clemens had of starting in New York.
Let's face facts, Favre has the Vikings - and could have at least half of the NFL franchises - by the short and curlies. He quite simply does not want to endure the unnecessary wear and tear of an NFL training camp nor does he want to be watching pigskin fly from anywhere other than on the gridiron. He's really carved out an ideal situation for himself. I guess that's what pass success warrants.
