Disecting The 2010 NBA Free Agent Class - What Should LBJ, Wade, and CB4 Do?

Well the NBA Playoffs are very much underway as the 2nd RD has already started but, many people are already looking ahead to this summer and speculating what the superstars of the 2010 NBA Free Agent class will do. I'm here to give my take on what I think the headliners of this year's Free Agent class should do such as Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh. I'll also touch on some of the other big names that are being overshadowed by "The Big 3" and what there future's may hold as well.

LeBron James Cleveland Cavaliers F - The King will have many eyes and ears on him while he makes his decision to whether stay in Cleveland or opt of his current contract and become a Free Agent. Now if I'm LeBron I'm definitely staying in Cleveland unless, I can go to New York to play with Chris Bosh or Dwayne Wade or even New Jersey/Brooklyn for that matter. James' best chance at a title currently and for the future is with the Cleveland Cavaliers he has a good supporting cast around him, and if the Cavs can bring in a true #2 option to play alongside LeBron then it's going to be hard for King James to leave Cleveland.

Dwayne Wade Miami Heat G - Unless Pat Riley can some how get Chris Bosh, Carlos Boozer, LeBron James, or Amare' Stoudemire to come join Wade in Miami, Wade's days as a member of the Miami Heat are over. Now the Heat do have some flexibility and can sign 2 max Free Agents so there is a chance Wade stays. However if your Wade you have to look at it like this, your team just got eliminated in the 1st RD again, the best player your playing alongside currently is Michael Beasley, and your not winning any title anytime soon with the team you got in Miami. If I'm Wade I ditch South Beach and hope to be playing alongside Chris Bosh(Who is the best fit alongside Wade) somewhere else(Possibly New York?), or with Derrick Rose in Wade's hometown of Chicago come next fall.

Chris Bosh Toronto Raptors F - Bosh is arguably the best PF in the league today and really deserves some more attention from fans, and media. Bosh is basically a big fish in a small pond playing in Toronto, while Andrea Bargnani is slowly becoming a very good sidekick for Bosh, and DeMar DeRozan has unlimited potential, Bosh isn't going anywhere with the team he currently has around him. From what I gather Bosh's heart is with Toronto but, he want's to be playing in the playoffs every year, and competing for championships, and once again he's not going to be able to do that in Toronto. I expect Bosh to make the unfortunate(if your a Raptors fan) but, right decision for himself and leave the Raptors, and be playing alongside Dwayne Wade in New York, New Jersey, or South Beach(If Wade Stays), LeBron James in New York or New Jersey(If James Leaves), Derrick Rose in Chicago, or Yao Ming in Houston come next year.

Other Notable Free Agents

Amare' Stoudemire F/C Phoenix Suns - Stoudemire should stay with the Suns, the way he's been playing as of late should have earned him a new contract with Phoenix. Also Stoudemire's play has really elevated the Suns to what looks be at least a Western Conference Finals berth I totally expect Phoenix to do everything they can to keep Amare' and think he will stay. If he doesn't expect him to end up in Miami, Chicago, or New York alongside Wade, or LeBron.

Dirk Nowitzki F/C Dallas Mavericks - If I was Dirk I'd stay in Dallas, it really is his best chance to win a title is with the Mavericks. Dirk is there franchise player and I'm sure Mark Cuban and Dirk's people will be hammering out a new contract come next summer. If Dirk leaves I'd expect him to end up in New York, or Houston.

Joe Johnson G Atlanta Hawks - Johnson is the best player on the Hawks and Atlanta will do all they can to keep him. By this time next year Johnson will still be a Atlanta Hawk but, if he decides to test the Free Agency Waters I see his old coach Mike D'Antoni and the New York Knicks being a nice fit for Johnson(This assuming the Knicks don't land LeBron, Wade, or Bosh)

Carlos Boozer F Utah Jazz - Boozer and the Jazz's front office have had there problems recently and Boozer has wanted to test his value on the Free Agent market for awhile now. The Jazz did also just give Paul Milsap a nice hefty contract last year so I don't expect Boozer to be wearing a Jazz uniform next year. New York, Miami(If Wade Stays), Chicago, Los Angeles Clippers, Houston, and New Jersey are likely destinations for Boozer come this summer.

Paul Pierce F Boston Celtics - Pierce is due $21.5 million dollars next season, at 33 yrs old Pierce won't ever see another contract like that. I fully expect Pierce to stay in Boston for not just this yr but, for the rest of his career. I will be stunned if Pierce isn't wearing a Celtics Jersey come next year.

Yao Ming C Houston Rockets - Ming's due $17.7 million dollars from the Houston Rockets next year he won't be opting out of that contract anytime soon especially giving his recent injury trouble. Ming will hope to be healthy next season and also hope to be playing alongside Chris Bosh on his to way to hopefully for his sake his first NBA Title.

Manu Ginobili G San Antonio Spurs - Plain & Simple Ginobili isn't going anywhere he'll be a Spur next year.

David Lee F/C New York Knicks - Unless the New York Knicks can't land Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, Joe Johnson, or Amare's Stoudemire, David Lee is all but, out of New York. The Knicks will only resign Lee as a last resort so to say. I expect Lee to get interest from Miami, Chicago, and Houston if he's a free agent, as well as my Denver Nuggets and the Portland Trailblazers who will probably look to work out some sign and trade to land Lee if he becomes available.
