Could Jamarcus Russell be the greatest draft bust EVER? No one even comes close!

Almost 40 million dollars in guaranteed money and 3 years later, the former number 1 overall draft pick is a shadow of his former self. Well, let me rephrase that, he's a shadow that has grown to more than 300 pounds, yes, I kid you not, Russell, the Oakland Raiders QB is almost as big as his left tackle. And probably slower too. If he was smart enough to lay off the Krisy Kreme he would have seen this coming, but no, the fried chicken legs and barbequed Yams took precendece over his NFL career. He currently holds the single season worst QB rating in history! San Fran, you thought Alex SMith is bad? Well he is, but just not quite as bad as Russell. Al Davis finally had to admit his mistake and say, "alright time to move on" and you know if Al Davis says that, it's gotta be pretty much a done deal, that man hates to say he made a mistake.

The only other draft bust candidate of the same ilk is Ryan Leaf, but remember, he went number 2 behind Peyton Manning (I recall certain writers for Sports Illustrated saying that Leaf had a bigger upside and could go number 1). Well history certainly set that one straight. And Leaf did not obtain the kind of obscene money that Russell received when he signed with the Raiders.

So what did the Raiders fans receive for their 40 million dollar investment? the worst quarterback in the history of the NFL!! Jamarcus Russll, I give you my Krispy Kreme Dough Boy aware for the greatest draft bust EVER!!

True, but I'd still have to give the nod to Jamarcus simply because of the guaranteed money given to him right from the beginning. 40 million in guaranteed money and a team that has handcuffed itself because of that pick (although the Raiders history of picks overall is suspect). But then again, upon further consideration, I'd have to throw in Tim Couch (number 1 overall), Tony Mandarich (number 2), Akili Smith (Mr. 1 year wonder) and Ki-Jana Carter in there as well.

In terms of the NFL, maybe, but I'd say Ryan Leaf was more of a headache for the Chargers....and in terms of all time in any sport you have to say Sam Bowie, considering two of the greatest players ever (Hakeem and Michael Jordan) were taken after him...

Your conception of food in the South is a bit off...no one eats chicken legs or barbecued yams....lol come on now...

What a colossal mistake that was by the Raiders. They reached a little bit to take Rolando McClain this year but the rest of their draft looks surprisingly solid.
