The Stanley Cup Playoffs, The First Edition

Alright, for starters I pretty much watch hockey everyday right now. I tweet @thesunsray and don't mind me.

The big news of the day is that the NJ Devils have been punted out of the playoffs. Kovalchuk, was a mega bust and there is no way I'd pay him the kind of money he wants for a long term contract. Pronger, continues to have that elite level fire he bring to the ice. The Flyers may face the Capitals, in what will be a dandy of a series but first the Caps will have to close the deal at home vs the Habs. If the Capitals win they will keep pace at being fresh throughout the playoffs. Which will be the bonus should the meet Pittsburgh in the conference finals.

The best goalie battle has to go to Miller vs Rask. They even have deadly face mask's for battle. The Bruin vs the Buffalo. Deadly!

In the West the Avs started strong with stellar play. It maybe a good thing they went down today cause their best game may come when the youngsters have nothing to lose. They know the their tender will give them the big stop. They just have to rattle Nabby. Maybe they will get some help and the Sharks will score on themselves in OT... wait that already happened. Crazy.

The Preds and Hawks are into a best of 3. I don't know about this one. Have the hawks figured them out and remembered how to win? They have some major guns on that team and their strong point was the ability to score often. That comeback game vs Calgary did marvels for their confidence. Yet those comebacks loses to the Wild and Capitals also made them fragile. Whats the deal are you going to fly or not?

My favorite series the LA Kings vs Vancouver Canucks is also at a best of 3. This is west coast open offense, high skilled goal tending showdown. Its awesome both teams can score and are pushing back and forth. I gotta go with LA because they are the Oilers of the south to me as my co-worker put it. Mike Green, J.Stoll and Ryan Smyth. Today I had a strange thought. I remember when TSN showed a promo clip of Ryan Smyth talking about living his dream as and Oiler and it came true. In 93, Wayne Gretzky was apart of a unfinished destiny for the Kings, as the Habs took the Cup. I find it eire that Ryan Smyth, is in the dance in a Kings Jersey. Incredible!

The RedWings vs Coyotes, the Redwings have really grown on me. I counted them out this year and they shown what they are really made of. Datsyuk is awesome. Its a series my Dad really likes so I can't comment on it because he is the expert.

Thats my Playoffs right now. LA Kings Man! and the Capitals ... lets dance.
