yeah but where are you going to find better judges? Can't fault the person before you fault the system. Else you'll have the same problem going over and over again. Can't hire someone and hope they do a good job, the system should have anyone be able to get plugged in, it's the training and the delivery of the training that is most important...in my humble opinion ;)

The 10 point must is a fine system for scoring rounds. I think the problem is that judges don't give out 10-10's, 10-8's, and even 10-7's enough. That responsibility lies with the judges. The only thing I'd change about the 10 point must system is the whole "octagon control" aspect. Like Cazz said, if you get a takedown and do nothing with it or have a guy clinched up against the cage and do nothing with it (ie: Couture v. Vera), it shouldn't count as much as a guy outstriking you for the majority of the round. But then again, a good judge knows that already.

i think the judges tend to look at damage to the "face area", whereas leg kicks are greatly overlooked.

I don't think one can ever really fault the actual judges, why? because a judge is only as good as the system around him/her, the training given and the rules that surround them. HK makes some good, solid arguments on this one. It's inconsistencies but they're not really from the judge per say. If the individual judges are a problem, I say start with teh training before thinking about changes. Remember that these guys are the best at what they do. Who else could take over right now?
