Because anybody who thinks that he should not be able to play in the NFL anymore is an idiot... There are people who did far worse things in the NFL that DID NOT serve time that people aren't even talking about... Micheal Vick clearly got caught up in something that he shouldn't have and did his time and paid his debt to society. He is a great QB and there is no reason for him not to be in the NFL.
