then you might take hitting out of the game, then men's hockey will change into women's hockey

I'm not saying just the ban, i'm saying it's gotta be a combination of things, rule is one, maybe equipment change, maybe something else that we don't know about, but we have to do something...

You raise the argument that penalties slow the game down. Well what slows the play down more than someone laying on the ground unconscious in a pool of blood. They then have to get the stretcher out, move the player off the ice...then the zamboni needs to come out and clean up the pool of blood. How long does it take to throw a player out of the game while that's going on? About 10 seconds. If this rule saves one player's career, its totally worth it.

Dang, I wanted to do this battle. But, I have to agree with Megatron. As of Saturday night there were 25 players in the NHL that were out with concussion or concussion like symptoms. A lot of players careers were cut short from concussions and the post concussion syndrome (such as Eric Lindros and Keith Primeau). Don Cherry did a segment on Saturday night about this topic and showed a few clips where a player had the perfect opportunity to take a player out, but backed off when he noticed the player had his head down. That's all it takes. If players don't do that, then they should be penalized big time. It should be an automatic game misconduct, and an automatic suspension to that player (length determined after its been reviewed by the league). That is almost a whole team that is out right now with concussion like symptoms or concussions. It's getting out of hand and it is COMPLETELY avoidable.
