Toskala is washed up. He really needs to go.

agreed but if the coach is great then the team would atleast get better... and if a coach is good he can create good chemistry, as in he will put the right players together, and make good lines.

Sometimes a coach can be great without his team being that way. Chemistry is another thing that can't necessarily be coached.

What do u mean by he's gotten better? I'm not quite getting what ur saying, as in his coaching skills? How cam you say that his coaching has gotten better if the team hasn't?

I don't know about coaching. Ron Wilson is really experienced and has squeezed more out of toronto than expected, last year at least. Does coaching decline? You'd think it would only improve, Wilson's been with Toskala before, he's gotten better, not his team, but he has. Toskala is the weakest link I'm afraid

I agree he has been doing bad and the defence is bad because of lack of chemistry, but I think we should give Toskala another chance and the defence is just due to horrible coaching. The leafs defence has some pretty good players and on paper is pretty decent... but the chemistry just isn't there

He had back surgery at the end of the season, but even if you would completely write off last season on the basis that he may have been injured the whole time with a non-sidelining injury, a rigorous recovery should have made a difference and it didnt. I think the defense is honestly worse this year due to lack of chemistry and over-schenning it so we can finally see how bad he is.

hey man the season has just started... and I agree toskala has rattled the players infront of him, but again the season has just started, and again I think its a mental issue with him... so its like I said give him another chance, because I believe that he deserves one, and if he fails to capitalize on it then I agree he should go, but I do not think that he should go just yet...

Vesa Toskala is a big asset/plus for the Leafs?? WOW.... If you want to excuse Toskala's poor play last year due to injuries, by all means, but he has been worse than ECHL quality to start the year and he deemed himself fully healthy at the start of camp. There are countless #s of goalies who lose their game's quickly (Jim Carey ring a bell???), and Vesa appears to be well on his way towards that end (minus the Vezina that Carey picked up). Allowing a weak goal or two a game, which Vesa has thus far, is unacceptable and has clearly rattled the guys playing in front of him. He's had his chance, and should Gustavsson remain healthy, we won't be seeing much more of Vesa in a Leafs jersey(unless Burke is cool with handing Taylor Hall to the Bruins next year). Absolutely sickening knowing the Leafs gave up Rask and a 1st/2nd/3rd round pick for two plugs in Raycroft/Toskala.
