9/10 times, Beckham's great passing comes from set pieces. Leadership is an intangible attribute. You can be one of the worst players on your team, but have longevity/durability in the sport and/or have a strong personality, and others will anoint you a leader. In Beckham's case, it's the longevity/durability as well as being a glamorized figure.
