again, this isn't relevant. How can a predetermined "sport" be anything like an actual sport? Do you mean fanbase wise?

Brock might be an ass, but he puts asses in seats and sells PPVs. Win or lose, he will continue to do that for the foreseeable future. He might not be as skilled as some other fighters from a martial arts perspective, but he knows how to win fights. There are always people like Lesnar in sports. What I don't want to see happen is fighters like Baroni or Lesnar or Diaz given free reign on air. It's good that they have Rogan to limit what they say a bit after fights. Image if UFC was like Dream where they just hand the mic to the winning fighter?!? *shudder*. There will always probably be an undercurrent of pro-wrestling when it comes to fighters like Lashley, Lesnar, even Baroni. And expressions of personality like Mayhem Miller and (the greatest!) Genki Sudo because it is such an individual sport. While I'm not 100% positive MMA needs to become an Olympic Sport or go the way of "sports entertainment", it'd definitely help legitimize MMA as a "respectable" sport.

i dont care what anyone says, brock is good for mma and ufc. besides the gsp fight, brock was the reason ufc100 was such a success. he got more money then gsp for that fight. you dont think there was a reason ufc agreed to this? big names make big money. ufc is a business, the more money the better.

Just as an FYI for tkd-champ, there are quite a few young children starting in grappling striking classes at dojos now - it's really just coming into it's own and it's just a matter of time before we see younger children being ready for amateur MMA by age 8 or 9. My son (6 in November) will be a yellow belt in Karate and a one stripe white belt in BJJ soon enough. My nephew (15 next year) is subgrappling no-gi, doing BJJ in gi, and does San Da - he's only been training just over a year. Imagine how much more advanced my son will be in 9 years. It may not be an Olympic sport at the moment...but there are a ton of young kids getting very interested in the sport.

I'm down with MMA becoming more of a sport than a spectacle. There would need to be some rules changes to make it a bit more on the "friendly" side and have more technical merit to it - like Olympic boxing vs. 'real' boxing. Heck, I'd be happy if BJJ was an Olympic sport, let alone MMA.

MMA is already an olympic sport. Judo, wrestling, boxing, tae kwon do. Sorry baller but tkd has my vote.

brock is an idiot. MMA needs to make sure it reigns in the idiots or else people will lose interest. But then again, WWE is pretty popular

Agree with Baller on this one 1000%. We can already see the UFC going that way because of the style of promotion. The whole Brock Lesnar foul mouth BS that pulled after his win against Muir was a blatant indication of that.

this one is a tough call but i dont think mma will be turning into wwe if you keep guys like brock under control. dana did a good job at smacking brock after the stunt he pulled at ufc100
