The MLB playoffs are an exclusive post season to ensure high quality of participants. Just because you like crappy teams doesn't mean they should get in, they should actually try and improve. The long season is good, the long games are good, and the people who have the attention spans to watch the season regularly would rather the cream of the crop get into the playoffs. The long season makes it very clear what teams are solid and which ones are not. In Baseball, the regular season is for your team and the post season is for good teams. The casual baseball fan who would like to see their team in the playoffs would say broaden the playoffs. A real fan who understands the MLB would agree it's good the way it is.

I am a Jays fan, and I know they're not good enough for the post season, but that doesn't mean I think we should change the format so they can get in with their crappy performance. I'd rather see them strive to be good enough to make the current post season.

Sometimes a coach can be great without his team being that way. Chemistry is another thing that can't necessarily be coached.

I don't know about coaching. Ron Wilson is really experienced and has squeezed more out of toronto than expected, last year at least. Does coaching decline? You'd think it would only improve, Wilson's been with Toskala before, he's gotten better, not his team, but he has. Toskala is the weakest link I'm afraid

Quinn may have come off harsh but let coaches speak out. I always thought it's nice to let these guys vent because they should be more frustrated with players more than anyone else because they are responsible for them.
