I've never been a big fan of either of these guys, so I had no emotional stake in this fight. I'm not saying that's blinding anyone to the truth, but I can't see how anyone could have awarded Machida a technical victory in this fight for any reason. I agree with the fame assessment, and I also see the rematch going much the same way based on comments made by Machida, post fight. He really believes that what he did won him the fight, and he almost KO'd Shogun three or four times, which is rediculous.

Like I said, I can see how people might be generous and give Machida rounds one, and three. He didn't get dominated in those rounds, so I guess he... won... them? I think Shogun was pushed into fighting Forrest. It was just too soon after having a dead man's tendon put into his body. Also I would be in favor of sponsorship. I have a large appreciation for irony. Imagine all the guys across north america tuning in to watch another babe on a hair commercial... DUN DUN DUUUUUUUU!
